"In March of 2001, I noticed a lump in my breast. I went to work as usual and during lunch I went for a mammography. Little did I know that this would be a turning point in my life. After a few more tests I was told by the Doctor that I had Breast Cancer.
I was overcome with fear for I didn't know what my future would be. On May 21, 2001, I had a Mastectomy and went through Chemotherapy a couple weeks after my surgery. I have always been a strong person, fighter and have been told that I have a lot of courage. I think all these things came from having a great family and friends who stuck by me, helped me get through the rough times.
I also realize how important it is to stay healthy and fit so you can fight off diseases. My children gave me a membership to Super Gym for Christmas, when I went in for the first time I spoke to Lamar a trainer from Home Training Group who explained to me the different programs that were offered. After thinking about it I decided to sign up and I have not regretted a moment of it.
Lamar keeps me motivated, focused and makes sure that everything I do is done properly and safely. I look forward to the days that I train. Home Training Group is a caring organization that has changed my life and I look forward to continuing my training with them.
To all of you who have fought your battles or are fighting, no matter what they are."
